Time: Doors open 1:00pm, Show begins 2:00pmLocation: 1920 S 37th StreetJoin us at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall for live performances by Monke and Ben Koshick. No cover, donations are encouraged, and there will be a raffle stacked with great prizes. Art Intersection MKE is raising funds to build our Solar Pavilion, and every dollar raised at the event goes straight to the buildout. The Solar Pavilion is an open-air structure that will shelter visitors from the elements during events, power visitors' personal devices and the entire Outdoor Gallery with clean, renewable energy, and give our community energy resilience during natural disasters or other crises. Thank you to performers Monke and Ben Koshick, and to venue Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall, for supporting Art Intersection MKE.

8/22/2026: Multi-sensory Performance: "Former Self" with MF Dynamics

We welcome Maria Finkelmeier to the Art Intersection MKE Outdoor Gallery. Named a “one-woman dynamo” by the Boston Globe, Maria is a percussionist, composer, new media artist, and professor. Whether it’s scoring conceptual art films or serving as director, composer, and performer in multi-sensory performances and public art installations, her work continually transcends both genre and medium.  We begin the day with an interactive community workshop co-led by Art Intersection MKE and Maria, then return in the evening for Maria's multi-sensory performance. Former Self is a 75 minute solo piece that features eight original compositions and a series of notes from Maria to her former selves, ranging from cautionary tales to stories of resilience. Former Self utilizes video projection featuring generative animations controlled by Maria’s movements onstage. This performance is part of our Ruth Arts Wisconsin Special Project: Interactive Oasis. Saturday, August 22nd: Interactive Workshop, 10am - 12pm, Former Self Performance, 5pm- 7pmArt Intersection MKE Outdoor Gallery: 3542 W. Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pmWorld-renowned muralist Senkoe is coming to our outdoor gallery for a live artist talk and graffiti demonstration. Senkoe traveled all the way from Mexico City to share the story behind his mural Waawaashkeshi, meaning "Deer" in Ojibwe, now on permanent display in our Outdoor Gallery. His work has traveled the globe, with murals across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and Asia. Sunday is your chance to hear directly from the artist about his process, his inspiration, and the meaning behind this striking piece. Watch him work in real time during a live graffiti demonstration, ask your questions, and get a rare, up-close look at how a mural like Waawaashkeshi comes to life. This event is free and open to the community. Bring your family, bring your friends, and come experience the intersection of art, culture, and craftsmanship firsthand.

Join us as we host Milwaukee Water Commons for an inspiring evening celebrating water through poetry and music, curated by Milwaukee Water Commons Artist in Residence, Kavon Cortez Jones. Ten local poets tapped into their connection to water to craft poems they'll share.

Shelly Conley City of Milwaukee Poet Laureate, Blue Lotus, Darlin Nikki Janzen,  Amarion Herbert,  Sonia Erika,  Lature Elizabeth Carter,  Marika Holbusz,  Emmitt James,  Kathrine Yets,  Kavon Cortez Jones . With Musical response by the Garrett Waite Band.

Free public event! Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of poetry and music inspired by water.

This project made possible  with funding from the  Artist in Residence program of Milwaukee Water Commons.
